This tour covers the most important squares, buildings and monuments of Florence and the visit of the two most renewed museums in town. First visit the Duomo’s square, with the Cathedral, Giotto Bell Tower and the Baptistery, one of the oldest religious building in town, whose eastern entrance is fabulous: the “Gate of the Paradise” by Lorenzo Ghiberti. Then visit the Accademia Gallery which hosts the original statue of David by Michelangelo and the unfinished Prisoners. Walk through the narrow medieval street of Dante’s quartier where the “supreme poet”, father of the Italian language was born.
After lunch break visit the Signoria Square, the political center of Florence. The town hall, Palazzo Vecchio stands with its imposing size surrounded by an open-air gallery of statues and then enjoy the visit to the Uffizi Gallery that hosts masterworks of Renaissance art such as Giotto’ “Maestà”, Filippo Lippi’s paintings, Botticelli’s “birth of Venus” and “Allegory of Springtime”, Leonardo Da Vinci “Annunciation”, Michelangelo’s “Tondo Doni”, Raphael’s “Portrait of Pope Leo X” , Titian “Venus of Urbino” and Caravaggio’s “Medusa.
Then we continue up to the Arno river and the tour finishes at the Ponte Vecchio, the old medieval bridge with its jewelry shops.
